heva is building the operating system for Care Without Borders — an AI-driven healthcare platform that combines healthcare delivery, crypto/blockchain payments, and artificial intelligence. As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you will design, develop, and scale the core backend infrastructure powering this platform.
You'll own high-performance backend services that handle sensitive medical data, financial transactions, and real-time AI workflows. Your work will span multiple critical domains: building secure payment and wallet infrastructure for cross-border healthcare operations, designing APIs that power both front-end and AI-driven features, architecting microservice systems with strong observability, and collaborating with AI engineers to efficiently deploy and serve machine learning models.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining backend services using Golang (Gin) and PostgreSQL; designing and optimizing RESTful and GraphQL APIs; integrating payment systems (e.g., Stripe) with secure, compliant transaction handling; leveraging Redis for caching, rate limiting, and distributed task management; architecting microservice-based systems with fault tolerance; implementing secure authentication and RBAC using JWT/OAuth2; and driving code quality through mentorship, reviews, and documentation.
You'll work in a high-trust, regulated environment where reliability, security, and correctness are as critical as speed. This is a foundational role building systems that sit at the intersection of healthcare compliance, financial transactions, and AI infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of backend development experience with strong command of Golang (Gin) and PostgreSQL
- Proven expertise in schema design, query optimization, and indexing strategies for large-scale databases
- Proficiency in RESTful and GraphQL API architecture for scalable, modular backend systems
- Hands-on experience with Redis, message queues (Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ), and distributed systems
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, Cloud Build, etc.)
- Experience building microservice architectures, including inter-service communication and API gateways
- Skilled in secure payment integrations, webhook validation, and financial transaction flows
- Strong understanding of authentication and data protection using JWT, OAuth2, and encryption standards
- Adept at debugging, profiling, and performance tuning Go services in production environments
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and ownership mindset with focus on reliability and results
