Ascendis Pharma, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior Associate for Global Logistics & Distribution to join its growing team in Hellerup, Denmark. You will report directly to the Associate Director of Global Logistics and work alongside 5 colleagues in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Operations: Coordinate daily shipping activities and ensure timely collection and delivery of GxP (Good Distribution Practice) shipments. Communicate clearly and accurately with third-party vendors to maintain operational efficiency.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all transportation and storage activities comply with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and regulatory requirements specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Guide, train, and support colleagues on shipping procedures and regulatory requirements. Resolve logistics issues with internal and external partners to maintain smooth operations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
The role involves approximately 5-15 days of travel per year. You will be based at the Hellerup office (Tuborg Boulevard 12, DK2900 Hellerup).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, preferably within biotech, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries (food, medical devices)
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, cold chain shipping, and GxP/GDP requirements
- Experience with customs and VAT requirements, shipping documentation, and third-party logistics
- Proficiency in English and Danish (written and spoken)
- Solid skills in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365) is advantageous
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and thrive in an informal, open environment
- Proactive approach with adaptability to changing priorities and business needs
