Salary: USD 130,000 - 225,000 / annual
Formlabs is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join its manufacturing team in Somerville, MA. The company develops 3D printing technology used by over 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA.
In this role, you will be responsible for research and development of manufacturing processes for all Formlabs products, working cross-functionally with mechanical design, electrical, and materials teams. You will improve existing manufacturing lines to support volume growth, establish in-line and intermediate quality checks to catch failures earlier, and design and analyze production lines with clear metrics for continuous improvement. You will also work with contract manufacturers to improve their output and communicate with design engineers to ensure design changes are properly adopted.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improving existing manufacturing lines and processes
- Establishing quality checkpoints in production workflows
- Designing and analyzing production lines with performance metrics
- Collaborating with overseas contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Communicating with design teams on manufacturing implications of design changes
Requirements:
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers or suppliers
- Demonstrated ability to bring electro-mechanical products to market on time and within budget
- Experience evaluating and improving production line performance metrics
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related)
