Wormhole is a crypto-native group of companies spanning market making, liquidity provision, on-chain trading infrastructure, and software development. They are expanding their accounting and finance team and seeking a Senior Accountant to work directly with the Head of Finance as a core member of that build-out.
In this role, you will own the monthly close across multiple entities, maintain crypto subledgers with accuracy, handle billing and revenue tracking, and support compliance, tax, and legal functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running monthly close for several entities in QuickBooks Online, including bank and exchange reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany due-to/due-from tie-outs, and eliminations for consolidated packages
- Maintaining crypto subledgers by importing and validating exchange and on-chain transaction data, reconciling balances back to source
- Reconciling trading and liquidity activity across CEX accounts, perpetual venues like Hyperliquid, and DeFi LP positions on Solana and EVM chains; producing P&L and rollforward schedules
- Setting up and maintaining charts of accounts for new entities and business lines as they launch
- Preparing monthly retainer and revenue share invoices and maintaining Excel trackers with tiered fee logic and per-client billing bases
- Supporting entity structuring work, including intercompany loans, capital contributions and distributions, and related-party transaction accounting
- Preparing annual filings and tax workpapers (BVI financial returns, federal tax memos, supporting schedules for outside CPA firm)
- Assembling KYB packages, member and manager registers, and documentation for banks, brokers, and institutional partners
- Maintaining AML/OFAC program documentation and coordinating regulatory and law enforcement records requests
- Supporting HR and payroll operations in Rippling, including deduction setups, payroll corrections, and contractor tracking
- Building and maintaining Excel and Google Sheets models: amortization schedules, loan workbooks, portfolio trackers, and deal models
You will work directly with leadership and the Head of Finance with real ownership over the processes you run. Processes are established, and you will be trusted to own them, improve them where appropriate, and tackle challenging problems across a fast-moving group of companies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ideally 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in crypto or digital assets
- CPA or actively working toward it
- Real familiarity with digital asset accounting: understanding wallets, token transfers, swaps, perpetuals, and their accounting treatment
- Working understanding of DeFi, including liquidity pools, AMMs, lending protocols, staking, and how to account for each
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and at least one crypto subledger
- Strong Excel skills: INDEX/MATCH, dropdown-driven models, clean reconciliation
- Comfort with multi-entity and intercompany accounting, including related-party considerations under GAAP
- Good judgment on escalation and clear communication, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with crypto subledger platforms (TRES, Koinly, Breezing)
- Experience with entity structuring, multi-entity setups, intercompany arrangements, and offshore entities
- Exposure to BVI or other offshore entity reporting
- Some scripting ability (Python, Apps Script) for cleaning and transforming transaction exports
- Experience with Rippling or another EOR/payroll platform
