Fudo is a Latin American fintech startup that provides restaurant management software and payment solutions. The Credits team builds financing products enabling restaurants and food businesses across LatAm to access capital quickly, leveraging operational data from Fudo's platform to offer tailored terms. You'll work on backend services that power Fudo's payments ecosystem, directly impacting thousands of restaurant customers.
In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services primarily in Ruby (non-Rails architecture). You'll ensure the system handles high transaction volumes efficiently with low latency, implement security best practices for sensitive payment data and fraud prevention, and write comprehensive automated tests (unit and integration) as part of CI/CD pipelines. You'll mentor team members, conduct code reviews balancing quality with deployment velocity, and implement logging, monitoring, and alerting strategies using tools like OpenSearch, Grafana, Open Telemetry, Prometheus, and CloudWatch to maintain high availability and quickly detect anomalies. You'll also monitor metrics and alarms to respond rapidly to incidents.
The team values problem-solving, understanding the "why" behind decisions, and recognizing the direct impact on customers. Experience or interest in fintech and food service industries is valued. While backend is your primary focus, you'll work across the full stack (React and Flutter frontends) and should be comfortable programming in multiple languages beyond Ruby.
Fudo offers flexible work arrangements (remote, in-office, or hybrid) with offices in Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Mexico City. Additional benefits include competitive international salaries, health coverage, English/Portuguese training, Wellhub fitness coverage, local holidays plus birthday day off, and vacation days.
