Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems, AI, and sensor fusion technology. The Maritime Division is scaling at historic pace, anchored by Arsenal-2, a new software-defined shipyard in Baltimore County, Maryland, as part of a $6.6 billion investment in America's submarine industrial base. The division is currently operating a 160,000 square foot Proto-Factory in Orange County, California, serving as the prototyping hub for Arsenal-2.
In this role, you will own the complete systems engineering integration and test (SEIT) function for a maritime autonomous vehicle program. You will be responsible for requirements management, interface control, and verification planning as subsystem teams across structures, energy, propulsion, communications, and vehicle management design in parallel. Your core responsibilities include:
- Owning the vehicle requirements baseline from program-level requirements down to subsystem specifications
- Managing interfaces and interface control documents (ICDs) across all subsystems, including change control
- Defining and owning the complete verification and validation plan, including the requirements verification matrix
- Planning and executing the full integration and test campaign: bench testing, software-in-the-loop (SITL), hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), dockside testing, and at-sea testing
- Owning vehicle technical budgets for mass, volume, power, energy, and buoyancy
- Chairing design reviews (System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review) and driving action closure
- Leading test readiness and anomaly resolution during at-sea testing campaigns
- Directing the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) systems engineer and establishing how the system model is used across the program
- Traveling up to 25% to test sites and operational locations
You will manage the MBSE systems engineer and set the technical direction for how systems engineering tools and models support the program. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive the integration strategy that takes separate subsystem deliveries into a functioning vehicle ready for water testing.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience on complex hardware and software vehicles, including at least 2 years leading integration and test campaigns
- Demonstrated experience owning requirements and interface baselines across multiple subsystem teams
- Proven experience planning and executing verification campaigns on physical hardware
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with AUV, UUV, submarine, spacecraft, or aircraft integration and test
- Experience with MBSE and SysML, either owning a system model or consuming one
- Experience leading at-sea or remote field test campaigns
- Experience on a program where the requirements baseline did not exist at program start
- Background in defense or maritime robotics
