Cyera is building AI trust infrastructure for the Fortune 1000, helping enterprises adopt AI securely by controlling what data AI systems can access and what actions they can take. The company started by solving data discovery and security at scale and is now expanding into comprehensive AI security.
As Security Engineering Team Lead, you will lead a team of engineers building the platforms that power Cyera's security program. This is a player-coach role where you remain hands-on while managing and developing your team. You will own the technical direction, architecture, and roadmap for critical security systems including log pipelines and SIEM, detection and automation frameworks, AWS security posture, SaaS security, AI security, and security tooling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing the Security Engineering team; setting priorities, running engineering cadence, and building career paths
- Owning the architecture and roadmap for security platforms; making and documenting major design decisions
- Setting the security architecture for the AWS environment, including identity guardrails, logging and monitoring, and posture management
- Owning the detection-as-code framework and automation/agent tooling that the SOC depends on
- Building and running the platform for the fleet of security agents, including tooling, integrations, permissions, guardrails, evaluation, logging, and system reliability
- Running design and code review; defining engineering standards for testing, infrastructure as code, and observability
- Translating escalation patterns and incident findings into an engineering roadmap in partnership with the Security Operations Team Lead
- Taking on the hardest technical problems yourself, using AI-assisted development as the default approach
- Representing Security Engineering to security leadership, R&D, and IT; making the case for investments with data
Requirements:
- 5+ years in security or cloud security engineering
- Senior or lead-level experience required
- Demonstrated experience owning the design of security platforms at scale
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers
