Latent is an enterprise pharmacy intelligence platform powered by clinical AI agents, serving 60+ leading health systems collectively serving ~70 million people. The company has raised $80M from top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Spark Capital, and Y Combinator.
You will be a Security generalist helping define, lead, and execute Latent's security roadmap across all domains. This is a high-impact role on a small, fast-growing team where you'll partner with engineering, product, legal, and GTM teams to enable rapid development without sacrificing security and compliance.
Key areas of focus include:
**Cloud Security**: Mature and harden Latent's cloud environment into a secure-by-default stance, enabling developers to ship code with confidence and infrastructure teams to deploy safely.
**AI Security**: Secure employee access to AI-powered tools and agents in compliance with organizational standards, ensuring AI systems operate safely and correctly.
**Data Security**: Secure the data warehouse to provide deep insights into patient data and pharmacy performance while maintaining patient privacy and security commitments.
**Application & Product Security**: Automate security across the SDLC, embed security into development workflows, and define security requirements for new product features and agentic platform iterations.
**IT Security**: Secure employee devices and applications through automation of user lifecycle provisioning, just-in-time access, elevated access provisioning, and device hardening.
**Incident Detection & Response**: Investigate potential incidents, build environment-specific detections, and collaborate with MDR services to improve incident accuracy.
You'll design, develop, and create security automations and workflows using AI that scale the security team. The role emphasizes ownership, bias for action, a "yes mindset" (balancing speed and security), automation, complexity management, and product focus—understanding the needs of Latent's employees as your primary customers.
**Requirements:**
- Experience in multiple security domains (cloud, IAM, application security, endpoint security, incident response)
- Ability to use coding agents to contribute solutions directly to codebases; understanding of basic engineering principles required
- Experience building IAM workflows (Okta, SSO, SAML, JIT provisioning)
- Experience designing and rolling out managed settings for AI tools and coding agents
- Demonstrated collaboration with developers on secure code and secure feature design
- Experience hardening AWS cloud and CI/CD environments (IAM roles, CIS standards, CSPM, findings management)
- Experience building and maintaining vulnerability management programs across the stack (servers, containers, third-party OSS, custom code)
- Experience automating security and compliance requirements for macOS and BYOD endpoints using MDM
- Ability to investigate security alerts, write and tune relevant detections
**Nice to Have:**
- Early-stage startup security experience
- Healthcare data experience and HIPAA knowledge
- SOC2 audit control participation or development
