Antares Therapeutics is seeking an immunologist to join a highly integrated team of biologists, computational scientists, and protein scientists. You will design, execute, and interpret in vitro and ex vivo experiments to evaluate immune cell function, target engagement, and mechanism of action for therapeutic candidates focused on small-molecule modulation of immune signaling pathways in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. As a hands-on individual contributor on the scientific track, you will own the biology across the portfolio, spanning early target validation through IND-enabling studies. You will see programs progress from first cellular proof of mechanism through to development candidate selection. Key responsibilities include designing and executing primary human immune cell assays, independently analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, partnering with chemistry and protein sciences colleagues to inform design decisions, building mechanism-of-action and target engagement packages, and contributing to IND-enabling studies and regulatory documents. At the Senior Scientist level, you will independently lead a defined experimental workstream, establish internal best practices for assays you own, and mentor junior scientists. The role is offered at the Scientist or Senior Scientist level; scope, independence, and cross-functional influence scale with experience. You will work in a data-driven, scientifically ambitious culture where success is measured by program impact rather than experiments run. **Requirements:** - PhD in Immunology or related field (or equivalent experience) - Scientist level: PhD with 2+ years post-doctoral or industry experience; OR MS with 6+ years; OR BS with 10+ years relevant biotech/pharma experience - Senior Scientist level: PhD with 5+ years industry experience with demonstrated record of independent delivery and cross-functional influence - Hands-on experience developing and qualifying functional assays in primary human immune cells, where your data measurably influenced a target assessment or program decision (central to the role) - Deep understanding of immune pathways and cellular immunology in autoimmunity, including B and T cell biology, macrophage activation, innate immunity, and autoimmune disease mechanisms - Proficiency in cell-based assay development, CRISPR-based target validation in primary immune cells, and working knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present and defend data to cross-functional audiences **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience generating and analyzing single-cell RNAseq datasets - Experience with multi-color flow cytometry - Experience with in vivo autoimmune or inflammatory disease models - Prior experience supporting IND-enabling studies or regulatory data packages - Track record of scientific contribution (publications, presentations, or patents)
