Salary: USD 80,000 - 95,000 / annual
Stepful is a workforce platform training healthcare workers for major US health systems including NY-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, HCA, Providence, CVS, and Walgreens. The company has trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare workers since 2021 and is backed by Y Combinator and Reach Capital.
This full-time, travel-based role supports Stepful's Surgical Technology program across multiple clinical sites nationwide. You will deliver hands-on skills instruction, assess student competency, and ensure strong clinical and certification outcomes. Between 11-week cohorts, you'll serve as Stepful's on-site representative, partnering with clinical sites on program implementation and client onboarding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching and facilitating skills labs and clinical instruction across assigned cohorts
- Demonstrating proper surgical techniques and providing step-by-step instruction with supervision
- Assessing student competency, providing feedback, and delivering remediation as needed
- Ensuring students achieve mastery before advancing to clinical rotations
- Coordinating with hospital preceptors to align experiences with program goals
- Documenting student progress and reporting clinical outcomes
- Representing Stepful on client and partner calls to support implementation
- Providing insights to enhance student and partner experience
The role requires regular travel to multiple US clinical sites; Stepful covers all reasonable travel expenses including flights, transportation, and hotel accommodations.
Requirements:
- Willingness to travel extensively to multiple clinical sites around the United States
- Current Surgical Tech certification (CST or NCCT)
- 3+ years of experience teaching Surgical Technology in a lab or school setting
- Hands-on experience as a Surgical Technologist in the operating room
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to be hands-on, resourceful, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments
Bonus qualifications:
- CRCST certification and/or experience teaching Sterile Processing
- Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field
- Experience with competency-based education models
- Experience supporting diverse and underserved student populations
- Familiarity with NCCT certification requirements
- Previous experience with online or hybrid education programs
