Salary: USD 89,000 - 127,500 / annual
Precision Medicine Group seeks a Scientist, Flow Cytometry to lead assay development, validation, and execution of flow cytometry and immune-based assays. This is a hands-on scientific role with significant technical responsibility and mentoring opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and independently execute flow cytometry experiments using whole blood and isolated cells, with accurate data analysis and presentation
- Develop and validate new assay procedures; improve existing SOPs and documentation
- Perform immune assays including ELISpot, ELISA, and MSD alongside flow cytometry work
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine scientific issues; identify and implement emerging laboratory techniques
- Monitor product and R&D project expenses; act as a scientific resource to clients and internal teams
- Support equipment operational qualifications and performance checks
- Contribute to scientific publications, grant/contract proposals, and presentations at scientific meetings
- Maintain safe lab practices and collaborate with technical teams on resource sharing
- Occasional extended work hours to meet business demands
The role emphasizes high-quality output, efficiency improvements, and building expertise in immunophenotyping and cell-based assays. You will work in a regulated environment (GLP/CAP/CLIA/ISO standards) and may be exposed to freezer environments ranging from -20°C to -196°C.
Requirements:
Minimum: Master's degree in life sciences or relevant field; 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
Required: Expert-level flow cytometry skills with whole blood and isolated cells; demonstrated proficiency in cell-mediated immunity monitoring via flow cytometry, ELISpot, ELISA, and MSD; excellent communication and organizational skills; strong data analysis and reporting abilities; proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, Diva, and FlowJo; ability to differentiate colors across full spectrum; ability to lift/carry 1–15 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs overhead with assistance; fluent English (read, write, speak, comprehend).
Preferred: Understanding of GLP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards; experience with primary cell-based assays and Mesoscale; cell sorting technique experience.
