Rula is a mental health platform connecting patients to therapists and clinicians. The company is Series C-funded and remote-first, operating across most US states. You will serve as Salesforce Architect, designing the systems that move patient, clinician, and insurance data between Salesforce and operational tools. You'll work directly with end users—operations teams, clinicians, and care coordinators—to understand their needs and build solutions that accelerate patient matching, clinician onboarding, and care delivery. The role sits at the intersection of technical depth and organizational impact. You'll own architecture decisions for a complex, mission-critical system, including data model design, system integrations, security, and monitoring. Your work directly affects how quickly patients connect with therapists and how efficiently care teams operate. The team is small enough that your decisions are visible and lasting; you'll both design solutions and implement the hardest parts yourself. Key responsibilities include: - Designing Salesforce data models and integration patterns that scale and evolve with the business - Architecting secure, monitored data exchanges between Salesforce and external systems, with recovery strategies for failures - Writing, reviewing, and debugging Salesforce code and automation; deciding when to code, configure, or solve problems outside Salesforce - Translating technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders and building consensus across teams with competing priorities - Establishing technical standards and best practices through design review, documentation, and mentoring - Advising on build-vs.-buy decisions and owning the long-term consequences Rula emphasizes remote work, comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA), 401(k), generous time off (including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks), paid parental leave, home office stipend, and wellness programs. **Requirements:** - 7+ years building on Salesforce, with at least 2 years as the accountable architect for design decisions on a large or complex implementation (not just configuration) - Hands-on ability to write, review, and debug Salesforce code and automation; judgment on when to solve problems with code vs. configuration vs. outside Salesforce - Experience designing Salesforce data exchanges with other systems, including security, monitoring, and failure recovery - Experience designing data models that endure over time and deciding which system owns which data when multiple systems touch the same information - Track record of explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical audiences and gaining alignment from teams with competing priorities - Experience setting technical standards that others follow (through design review, documentation, or mentoring), not just doing the work yourself **Preferred Qualifications:** - Expertise in multi-instance Salesforce implementations with Health and Data Cloud / Data 360 knowledge - Experience in HIPAA-compliant or regulated environments with strong data security practices - Experience with version-controlled, automated Salesforce deployment tooling and release process improvement - Track record of build-vs.-buy decisions and living with the results over years - Mentoring experience with administrators, analysts, or developers, with visible improvement in their judgment - Relevant Salesforce certifications (architecture or development)
