Carv is building AI-powered coaching software that helps skiers measure technique and improve performance using real-time feedback and sensor-driven data. The company bridges technology and human performance to unlock better skiing experiences.
You will own the Rust codebase from architecture to implementation, serving as a key technical driver for Carv's core coaching platform across Android and iOS. Your responsibilities include:
• Own and architect the Rust codebase, driving development from design through production
• Maintain and scale backend infrastructure on Google Cloud
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and end users (skiers) to build category-defining coaching experiences
• Implement real-time coaching features powered by AI and sensor data, including testing on the ski slope
• Stay current with industry trends and Rust advancements, adopting best practices
• Work in a small, startup-like team environment with high autonomy and impact
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Park City office on average, with core business hours 8am–4pm Mountain Time. You may occasionally work later depending on business needs, and busy periods may require early calls (around 7am) for UK overlap. On average, the team works ~50 hours per week. Relocation assistance is available.
Requirements:
• Passionate skier (beginner skiers welcome)
• Commercial production experience with Rust, Go, C++, or similar systems languages
• Relentless bias for action
• Track record of excelling in small-team environments, ideally at a startup
