Agile Robots, a global leader in industrial and humanoid robotics and physical AI, is expanding its North American service and support team. Based in Boston, this role serves as the primary technical lead for customer deployments of cutting-edge robotic systems used in automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare, and service industries.
You will apply engineering principles to install, commission, diagnose, and resolve complex issues with robotic systems. This position combines advanced systems-level troubleshooting, customer communication, and hands-on repair work, requiring independent judgment on root-cause analysis and corrective action. You will work closely with R&D and customers to ensure robots operate reliably in real-world environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Applying advanced knowledge of robot kinematics, electrical control systems, and proprietary software to serve as a subject matter expert on system design, integration, and performance
- Serving as the technical point of contact for customer issues, independently analyzing complex mechanical, electrical, and software problems and determining corrective actions
- Planning and leading on-site and in-house service engagements, determining repair strategies and performing component-level replacements (motors, sensors, cabling, structural components)
- Developing and refining preventative maintenance programs to improve hardware longevity
- Applying engineering analysis to schematics, test data, and diagnostic logs to determine root causes of performance issues and recommend improvements
- Authoring technical documentation, "lessons learned" reports, and knowledge-base content
- Partnering with Manufacturing and R&D to feed field findings into product improvements
- Defining service kit and spare-parts requirements for the region and ensuring diagnostic equipment remains calibrated
This role requires willingness to travel regionally and throughout the U.S. for on-site service, training, and system installation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and control systems
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C++, or PLC logic)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and resolve issues in complex electromechanical systems
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for hands-on service, training, and commissioning
