Cart.com is a fast-growing commerce enablement platform providing digital and physical infrastructure for thousands of B2C, B2B, and public sector organizations. The company operates 17 warehouses nationwide totaling over 10 million square feet and employs 1,600+ people globally, with headquarters in Houston, TX.
The Revenue Accountant is a key member of Cart.com's Revenue Accounting team, responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP across the company's diverse business lines, including fulfillment, services, and commerce solutions. This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring deep revenue recognition expertise and strong audit experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer contracts and determine revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606
- Prepare technical accounting memos supporting revenue conclusions
- Execute month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Support contract asset, deferred revenue, and contract liability accounting
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve revenue-impacting issues
- Support Merchant of Record accounting and reconciliations
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Support audits and provide documentation

Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant focus on revenue accounting
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP revenue recognition requirements
- Experience reviewing customer contracts and documenting accounting conclusions for complex revenue arrangements
- Demonstrated experience supporting audits within public accounting and/or corporate accounting environments (strong audit background required)
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close deliverables, and supporting schedules
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile large datasets
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in eCommerce, marketplace, logistics, fulfillment, SaaS, or technology-enabled services environments
- Experience supporting multiple revenue streams or complex customer arrangements
- Experience with Business Central (Dynamics 365) or similar ERP systems
- Experience participating in process transformation or accounting automation initiatives
- Prior involvement in IPO readiness, private equity-backed organizations, or high-growth environments
- CPA certification
- Public accounting experience with Big Four or large regional firm background
