Salary: USD 165,000 - 218,000 / annual

As a Research Scientist in Battlespace Awareness, you will work in a small, innovative team developing state-of-the-art algorithms and software that solve complex scientific problems with real-world military applications. Your work extends beyond academic publication—success is measured when your technology is deployed in mission-critical systems and customers achieve their objectives. Key responsibilities include: - Contributing to team direction with your expertise and ideas - Creating mathematically principled solutions to challenging information science problems - Prototyping state-of-the-art algorithms in an agile development environment - Implementing high-performance software spanning tactical systems to web applications - Using high-fidelity modeling, simulation environments, and flexible compute clusters to quantify technology benefits - Engaging directly with government and industry customers to ensure mission-critical success - Communicating complex technical concepts effectively to both experts and non-experts You will have access to advanced tools, innovative analysis platforms, and compute resources to validate your solutions in realistic operational contexts. REQUIREMENTS: - Master's degree or Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Controls and Dynamical Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Statistics and Probability, or related field - Demonstrated academic excellence with experience in most of the following areas: * Applied Mathematics: differential equations, linear algebra, numerical analysis, continuous or discrete optimization * Engineering: controls, estimation theory, digital signal processing, machine learning * Scientific Computing: software design, algorithm implementation, software analysis, testing, and optimization * Probability: statistics and random processes - Effective written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey advanced technology details to both technical experts and non-experts - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance - Transcripts required as part of early application process (unofficial transcripts acceptable; redaction of non-technical information permitted)
