You will serve as Regulatory Compliance Officer, reporting to the Head of Legal. This is a critical role supporting Sylvera's compliance framework under the ESMA EU ESG Ratings Regulation. You will embed and maintain governance arrangements required of an authorized ESG rating provider, support ongoing regulatory obligations, and work with the global team to address regulatory issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advise senior management and the board on regulatory compliance matters and provide regular compliance reporting
- Serve as primary point of contact with ESMA; manage regulatory correspondence, notifications, and information requests
- Monitor developments in ESG Ratings Regulation, Delegated Regulations, and ESMA guidelines; assess impact on Sylvera
- Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring programs with periodic assessments
- Maintain records demonstrating compliance to ESMA on request
- Identify, manage, mitigate, and disclose actual and potential conflicts of interest; maintain conflicts register
- Deliver training to staff on regulatory obligations and monitor internal compliance
- Promote compliance culture across the Irish entity and wider Sylvera group

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3–5 years' relevant compliance experience
- Must be based in Ireland
- Experience developing regulatory framework within start-up or scale-up environment
- Working knowledge of ESMA regulatory framework applicable to ESG ratings (governance, conflicts-of-interest, internal-control requirements)
- Experience analyzing, assessing, and managing regulatory and compliance risks
- Experience designing and implementing effective systems and controls for regulatory and governance
- Experience engaging with a regulator
- Strong drafting, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with global team
- Familiarity with voluntary carbon market and/or ESG data and analytics is desirable
