CloudFactory is a mission-driven company that combines advanced technology with a global network of talented people to make unusable data usable and drive real-world impact at scale. The company focuses on connecting people to meaningful work and building leaders worth following.
The Regional Field Operations Lead owns the delivery of CloudFactory's field services across the United States, overseeing a distributed team of field technicians who work on active construction sites. The role involves capturing data with 360° cameras, producing visual data, and installing beacons that power client operations.
This is fundamentally a service delivery role. You will ensure every scheduled capture and installation happens on time, meets quality standards, and lands within agreed SLAs while managing costs, staffing, and site relationships. You will be CloudFactory's operational face to partners in the region and the first point of escalation for delivery risks.
Based in Austin, Texas, you will spend significant time in the field: launching new projects, visiting existing sites, and ensuring every technician feels connected to CloudFactory. As services grow, you will help take on new types of field work.
Key responsibilities include:
Field Operations: Plan and run day-to-day capture and installation operations across all US sites, delivering 100% of contracted captures. Own and maintain schedules for every site, lead project launches, travel to sites to solve issues and build relationships, own field safety with zero incidents, manage capture equipment inventory and maintenance, step in to capture when needed, and support rollout of new field services like beacon installation.
Team Leadership: Recruit data capture technicians, onboard and train them, lead and coach a distributed team across multiple sites and states, manage team time and compliance, build connected team culture through check-ins and site visits, track and improve retention and reliability, and develop team skills for growth into lead roles.
Quality & SLA Management: Own delivery against partner SLAs for capture completion, timeliness, and data quality. Work with site leads on quality and coverage, monitor quality reviews, classify site health, lead recovery plans for at-risk sites, set and maintain standard operating procedures, and report on operational performance.
Partner & Service Delivery: Act as the main regional operational contact for clients, join operational reviews, plan ahead for upcoming projects (30-60 days out), manage regional delivery costs, and find ways to improve efficiency and scalability.
Requirements:
Experience: 5+ years in operations management, project management, or service delivery. Proven record of managing field-based or multi-site operations with a distributed workforce. Experience delivering against client SLAs in a service or outsourced delivery model. Experience hiring, onboarding, and retaining hourly or field-based staff.
Technical & Operational Skills: Strong planning, scheduling, and resource management skills across multiple concurrent projects. Comfortable with field technology such as 360° cameras, mobile apps, and cloud upload workflows. Strong knowledge of US construction site safety, including OSHA standards, common site hazards, and PPE requirements. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (CloudFactory will support completion within first 30 days if not held). Ability to use data to track performance and report clearly. Proficiency with Google Workspace and scheduling or project tracking tools.
Leadership Traits: Ownership mindset treating delivery outcomes as your own. Calm, solution-focused problem solver under pressure. Clear, confident communicator with technicians, site managers, and stakeholders. Builds trust and connection with remote team members. Balances partner needs with cost discipline and fair treatment.
Logistics: Based in Austin, Texas. Able and willing to travel regularly to sites across Texas and other US states, sometimes at short notice and in remote areas. Valid US driver's license and authorization to work in the United States. Able to work on active construction sites, including walking for long periods and climbing stairs.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in construction technology (ConTech), reality capture, surveying, or field services companies serving construction. Hands-on experience with 360° capture devices (GoPro, Insta360), laser scanners, or drones. Exposure to IoT or hardware installation in the field. Experience launching operations in new markets or states. PMP, PMI-ACP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar project/operations certification. Familiarity with US labor and wage-and-hour rules for hourly field staff. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
