Hubble Network is building a global Bluetooth® network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity via satellite, targeting applications in logistics, AgTech, and maritime. As a Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of Hubble's satellite hardware throughout its lifecycle—from design validation through flight readiness and into volume production.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing comprehensive test, validation, and quality-assurance strategies for wireless payloads
- Qualifying hardware to withstand harsh space environments including radiation, thermal cycling, and mechanical stress
- Conducting design validation, flight-readiness verification, and production-scale testing
- Working cross-functionally with hardware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure reliability from initial design through manufacturing and in-orbit operation
- Performing root-cause failure analysis and implementing corrective actions, with emphasis on RF systems
- Analyzing system requirements, decomposing them into verifiable test cases, and maintaining traceability using industry-standard tools
- Developing and executing test procedures using industry-standard equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator)
- Creating automated test systems and fixtures for production environments
- Conducting environmental testing including thermal, vibration, and TVAC (thermal vacuum) analysis
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Seattle, WA. You will work in a fast-paced, early-stage venture-backed startup environment with experienced leadership and world-class investors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or RF systems testing
- Experience in design, testing, and debugging of RF PCBAs with thorough understanding of electronics reliability and failure mechanisms
- Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator) and procedures for RF product analysis, verification, and validation
- Strong expertise in programming languages (Python, C/C++) for data analysis and test automation
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root-cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions in RF systems
- Thorough understanding of metrology, sources of measurement error, and uncertainty analysis
- Ability to analyze system requirements, decompose into verifiable test cases, and maintain bidirectional traceability using industry-standard tools (e.g., Jira)
- Demonstrated ability to work in highly cross-functional roles and independently
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
STRONGLY DESIRED:
- Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, TVAC)
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, assembly, and testing of electronic components
- Experience developing automated test systems and test fixtures for production
- Experience analyzing radiation impact on electronic components and mitigation strategies
- Familiarity with NASA and MIL-spec test and workmanship standards (MIL-STD-810/883, NASA/IPC J-STD-001ES)
