Salary: USD 140,000 - 240,000 / annual

You will join the engineering team as a Principal Software Engineer supporting R&D and production software development for next-generation radar products. This is a highly collaborative role with exposure across multiple product capabilities and the opportunity to expand your skillset across the company's product families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research & Development and production software development for next-generation radar products
- System integration of software on hardware, primarily commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware
- Support for deployed software capabilities serving U.S. and international customers
- Full-time on-site work at the El Segundo, California office
The role emphasizes working with minimal supervision on small teams, contributing to a fast-moving defense tech environment where technological threats move at unprecedented speed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of professional object-oriented software development experience
- Extensive/advanced Python experience
- Experience with Agile lifecycle processes (Scrum, Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- Solid understanding and extensive experience with Linux-based software development
- U.S. Person status (required for access to U.S.-only data systems)
Preferred:
- Hardware/Software Integration & Test (I&T) and Verification & Validation (V&V) of high-TRL systems
- Production-level software development & deployment experience (DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD with modern FOSS/COTS toolsets)
- Software development tools enforcing best practices (linting, code coverage, security scanning, documentation generation)
- Networking experience (software and hardware)
- CUDA/JAX experience
- Software-Defined Radio (SDR) development experience (e.g., Ettus)
- Near-real-time systems development
- Additional programming languages (C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, Go)
- Git version control
- Container technologies (Docker, Podman)
