Salary: USD 110,000 - 170,000 / annual
Harbinger Motors is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company transforming the medium-duty EV and hybrid market. The company brings together deep expertise in EV, battery, and drivetrain engineering to deliver a first-of-its-kind platform.
As a Quality Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to define and implement quality engineering processes and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining Harbinger's quality management system (QMS) and establishing/improving the quality of operational processes and outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality standards, quality control systems, and manufacturing quality processes
- Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
- Collaborate with production leadership to develop and implement controls and improvements
- Conduct technical and statistical investigations on quality problems, methods, and equipment; make recommendations
- Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements for supplier, production, and product issues
- Participate in design reviews with design engineering and manufacturing teams to mitigate manufacturing and assembly risks
- Develop forms and instructions for collecting, analyzing, and reporting quality data on the manufacturing line
- Lead multidisciplinary root cause analysis efforts on internal and external products with timely responses; ensure corrective actions are validated to prevent recurrence of non-conformances
- Lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings and act as quality representative for the engineering change control board
- Lead implementation of quality processes and KPIs with internal manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers
- Travel up to 25% as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or similar technical degree required
- 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering in automotive, aerospace, or equivalent manufacturing environment
- ASQ Certifications preferred: Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Knowledge of ISO-9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards strongly desired
- Understanding of quality core tools: Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Internal Audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills required
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects
