Salary: USD 115,000 - 130,000 / annual

Velo3D is a metal additive manufacturing company that develops integrated hardware and software solutions for on-demand manufacturing of production-quality titanium, inconel, and aluminum parts. The company's platform includes the Sapphire printer, Flow print preparation software, and Assure quality assurance system. This Quality Assurance Engineer II role focuses on the desktop tools suite used to prepare, validate, and monitor 3D printing jobs. The tools provide 3D CAD visualization, support markup capabilities, print instruction generation, and monitoring for long-running compute processes. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement comprehensive test plans for desktop tools, approaching testing from the perspective of a 3D printing applications engineer - Work collaboratively with applications engineers to reproduce, triage, and resolve bugs - Drive and coordinate the release process for desktop tools - Partner with DevOps and software engineering teams to identify, design, and automate tests where feasible - Ensure consistent validation and quality throughout release cycles The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between QA methodology and domain expertise in 3D printing applications, with the ability to think like both a tester and an end-user of sophisticated CAD-like software. Requirements: - 1–3 years of QA or testing experience - Familiarity with CAD-like desktop applications - Either experience designing and testing desktop software OR hands-on experience with 3D printing - Experience working with software engineers and technical users of software - Optional: experience with Qt applications - Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and DevOps teams
