Paytm, India's leading mobile payments and financial services distribution company, is seeking a QA Lead Engineer (SDET) to join its technology platform team. The platform provides collections and lending solutions using innovative AI engines and ML models to deliver insights and optimization across the lending ecosystem.
In this role, you will lead QA automation efforts for a fintech platform serving millions of users and merchants. You will be responsible for analyzing requirements and PRDs to create comprehensive test cases, designing and implementing automated test suites across web, mobile web, and native mobile applications. Your work will span sanity, functional, retesting, integration, and regression testing, with a focus on API automation and end-to-end quality assurance.
You will work with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, as well as the ability to mentor and guide QA team members. You should be comfortable working in an Agile environment, managing defect lifecycles, and continuously improving testing processes and automation coverage.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you'll be coordinating across multiple business units and technical teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of experience as an SDET or QA automation engineer
- Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver and Appium for web and mobile automation
- Strong experience with API (Web Services) testing and automation
- Hands-on experience with Java programming language
- Experience with SQL queries and MySQL databases
- Proficiency in Linux environments
- Experience with scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl, Ruby)
- Expertise with open-source tools: Eclipse, JUnit, Maven
- Hands-on experience with Jira for defect lifecycle management
- Understanding of Agile methodology
- Experience testing web, mobile web, and native mobile applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good to have: Jenkins exposure
- Preferred: E-commerce domain background
