FIS is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with strong backend and database testing expertise to join their technology team supporting financial services and private equity clients. This is a full-time, experienced-level role based in Pune, India.
You will design, develop, maintain, and execute both automated and manual test solutions for enterprise applications. Key responsibilities include developing automation frameworks and test utilities using Python and pywinauto, validating backend systems and APIs, and performing comprehensive data validation and reconciliation using complex SQL queries against large-scale databases. You'll work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
Your day-to-day work will involve analyzing requirements to create effective test scenarios and test cases, troubleshooting production and client-reported issues through application and data analysis, and executing system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities. You'll validate system performance, reliability, scalability, and security requirements, communicate testing progress and defects to stakeholders, and participate in Agile ceremonies to drive continuous quality improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 4–7 years of software testing experience with strong focus on backend and automation testing
- Strong hands-on Python automation development, including desktop application automation using pywinauto
- Strong financial services domain knowledge; capital markets or private equity experience preferred
- Strong Unix/Linux environment experience, including Shell scripting
- Strong database testing experience: SQL query development and optimization, data validation and reconciliation, database debugging and analysis, stored procedures and database objects, working with large data volumes and complex schemas
- Experience testing APIs, batch processes, and backend services
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and quality processes
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and SAFe/Value Stream concepts
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Zephyr Scale, Confluence/Wiki)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
