Airbound is building the world's most efficient aircraft for drone delivery, aiming to reduce delivery costs from ₹100/km to 10 paise/km. The company has a flying product and customers ready to use it; now the focus is unlocking regulatory pathways to scale operations.
The Public Policy team works closely with government and regulatory bodies, industry associations, and think-tanks to secure permissions and approvals for commercial drone delivery operations across more routes. This role bridges Airbound's operational and business development teams with the regulatory ecosystem.
As Public Policy Manager, you will lead advocacy efforts for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations and zoning rule changes. You will shape the public relations narrative around policy goals, unlock strategic objectives through government and regulator collaboration, and liaise with local authorities to ensure smooth flight operations. This is a hands-on role requiring both executive presence in high-level stakeholder meetings and pragmatic execution with on-ground teams.
You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Compliance, Public Relations, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align policy strategy with business objectives.
The role is based in Hoskote, Bangalore (company headquarters), with an in-office schedule including alternate Saturdays. Relocation assistance and daily travel stipend are provided.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must-Have:
- Minimum 6–8 years of professional experience shaping policy outcomes at Central and State Government level, preferably in Logistics, Aerospace, or Automotive industries
- Based out of Delhi (or willing to relocate to Bangalore)
- Proven ability to influence through thought leadership and non-linear advocacy strategies; track record of securing seats at industry roundtables and aviation/drone/logistics events
- Demonstrated experience working with politicians, bureaucrats, think-tanks, and industry associations
- Executive presence in C-suite and senior government stakeholder meetings, combined with pragmatic execution capability with on-ground teams
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in complex, multi-disciplinary environments
Good-to-Have:
- Familiarity with aviation, drone, and/or logistics industries (or strong willingness to learn)
- Knowledge of administrative, legislative, and executionary structures within Indian government agencies
