Salary: USD 112,000 - 149,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. As a Propulsion Test Engineer specializing in Turbomachinery, you will develop system requirements and test campaigns for Anduril's airbreathing turbine applications. You'll design comprehensive test campaigns and development efforts to satisfy program feature requirements, working closely with program teams and customers to deliver high-quality propulsion products. Key responsibilities include: - Developing system requirements and test campaigns for airbreathing turbine applications - Designing test campaigns and development efforts aligned with program feature requirements - Interfacing with program and customer demands to ensure product quality - Working with engine control systems including FADECs, ECUs, Starter-Generators, and related hardware - Managing actuators, sensors, connectors, and engine control system architecture - Developing test stands, instrumentation packages, and equipment for engine test and integration - Testing, diagnosing, and analyzing engine data on test stands, test expeditions, and in-flight test - Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers This role involves up to 25% travel and requires U.S. Person status due to access to export-controlled information. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar - 2+ years relevant engineering experience in gas turbine, aerospace, defense, automotive, or commercial vehicle industry - Strong understanding and intuition for physics of basic propulsion systems, motion control systems, and heat transfer - Familiarity with engines, engine controls, and/or testing of engines or powertrain components - Familiarity with verification test plan writing and execution, MIL standards, and feature development - Ability to collaborate well with cross-functional engineering teams - Practical experience with diagnostics monitoring, failure detection, and data analysis - Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar - Ability to assist with part selection, board design, and product design efforts - CAD design capability and knowledge of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding) - Experience procuring development parts and working in fabrication environments - Mechatronics experience including sensor selection, data acquisition system setup, wire harness assembly, and system troubleshooting - Experience with CANape or similar CAN interface tools - Experience in design and implementation of automotive or aviation control electronics - Prior experience developing embedded systems for automotive or aviation powertrain controls
