Stellic is a fast-growing edtech startup backed by leading social impact investors, partnering with top institutions like Cornell, Columbia, UVA, and Ohio State to support over 1 million students across 7 countries. The company is building a platform that transforms the student experience, helping students make informed decisions about their degree plans and career paths.
You will own the Explore product end-to-end. Explore is Stellic's transfer experience product, covering transfer pathways, rules management, articulation, prospective student profiles, and admissions workflows. This is a greenfield opportunity—there is no inherited backlog. You will define what the product becomes by conducting discovery, identifying high-leverage problems, and building a roadmap that earns trust with both university partners and internal leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the Explore product roadmap from the ground up, with no pre-existing backlog to manage
- Conducting partner-driven discovery: meeting with university partners on calls and on-site to understand how transfer processes work across different institutions
- Translating institutional needs into scalable product decisions that work across many schools without requiring custom one-offs
- Working daily with engineering teams in the US and Pakistan on architecture, trade-offs, and sequencing from the earliest stages
- Recognizing patterns across institutions to design solutions that scale, given that transfer rules and requirements vary significantly
- Balancing immediate product needs with long-term platform vision, understanding how early decisions shape future possibilities
- Communicating clearly and compellingly with university partners, engineers, and leadership to structure fuzzy problems and clarify hard trade-offs
This role requires someone energized by ambiguity who can move fast, learn constantly, and hold themselves accountable for outcomes. You will be the ultimate owner of a product with a wide-open roadmap.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of product management experience with demonstrable growth in scope and ownership over time
- True 0→1 experience: you have defined a product problem from nothing, built conviction around a solution, and shipped something real
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to structure discovery, form hypotheses, and make directional calls with incomplete information
- Strong partner instincts: skilled in customer conversations, asking insightful questions, and translating feedback into product decisions rather than feature lists
- Technical depth without needing to write code: comfortable in architecture discussions and able to think through how decisions constrain or enable future possibilities
- Ownership mindset: on an early-stage product, everything is your problem; you don't wait to be asked
- Clear, engaging communication skills with diverse stakeholders
