WorkOS is a $2B-valued developer platform (Series C, $100M raised) that provides enterprise-ready authentication, SSO, directory sync, and identity infrastructure. The company powers authentication for leading AI companies including OpenAI, Cursor, and Perplexity.
You'll be a frontend-leaning Product Engineer building Passport, WorkOS's new product that simplifies enterprise access—employees unlock work apps as easily as unlocking their device, while administrators maintain clear access control. This is a hands-on role where you'll shape product direction and own features end-to-end from conception through production iteration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work directly with customers, solutions engineering, and go-to-market teams to understand identity and device workflows, identify friction points, and prioritize improvements
- Build onboarding and access-management experiences for employees and administrators
- Own features from implementation through release and iteration, making pragmatic technical tradeoffs
- Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and security engineers to simplify complex access workflows
- Help shape how AI agents access company tools in coordination with adjacent product teams
You'll operate in an AI-native engineering environment, using AI tools to prototype and iterate while maintaining high standards for product quality and technical correctness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of industry software development experience, including shipping user-facing products
- Strong frontend engineering: accessible interfaces, well-structured application state, fast interactions, thoughtful loading/empty/error/recovery states
- Full-stack capability: design useful APIs, reason about data models and queries, implement authorization behavior, debug production issues. Deepest expertise may be frontend, but you can own work across layers and collaborate with specialists
- Strong product sense and judgment: understand customer needs, identify right problems, make thoughtful tradeoffs on priorities, scope, quality, and speed
- Strong product taste: shape how products work, rethink complex workflows, choose sensible defaults, make right actions obvious
- Clear communication and independent judgment through ambiguity; curiosity to learn unfamiliar systems and collaborate across disciplines
- Bonus: Identity, authentication, authorization, or enterprise integrations (SAML, OIDC, SCIM)
- Bonus: Experience building desktop applications or device-management workflows
- Bonus: B2B SaaS, developer tools, or employee/administrator products, especially early-stage product work with first customers
