Multiplier Holdings is a VC-backed startup that acquires and scales high-impact professional services firms through AI and automation, operating in verticals like tax and corporate accounting where complex workflows and talent shortages create automation opportunities. MultiplierOS is the operating system for financial and organizational data across Multiplier's portfolio: pricing, quoting, invoicing, payments, ledger, financial reporting, transfer pricing, portfolio company views, directories, and connecting workflows. This role sits at the intersection of portfolio-company operations and HoldCo visibility. You will be a Senior Software Engineer partnering closely with the Pod Lead, Product Experience, Finance, Operations, and portfolio-company stakeholders to design and build systems that replace spreadsheets, manual workflows, and disconnected systems. This is not a ticket-taking role—you will understand complex domains, shape technical solutions, and drive delivery of business-critical systems directly in the path of revenue, billing, reporting, staffing, and operational decision-making. Key responsibilities: **Product Development & Delivery**: Design and build systems powering pricing, quoting, invoicing, payments, reporting, and operational workflows. Lead delivery of complex, business-critical initiatives from problem definition through production rollout. Translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable software. Drive projects independently while maintaining alignment with pod priorities and customer needs. **Systems Design & Engineering**: Design domain models representing financial, organizational, and operational data. Build integrations with accounting systems, payment platforms, and internal tools. Create reliable workflows that move data while maintaining correctness and auditability. Improve observability, performance, and operational reliability. Design for long-term maintainability. **Customer & Workflow Understanding**: Develop deep understanding of financial and operational workflows across portfolio companies. Work directly with operators and finance leaders to understand constraints and bottlenecks. Partner with Product Experience to shape solutions solving real operational problems. Identify recurring patterns that should become reusable capabilities. **Engineering Excellence**: Write maintainable, well-tested, production-quality code. Lead technical design for complex projects. Raise system quality through strong engineering judgment. Address technical debt meaningfully. Improve observability and operational tooling. **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner with Product Experience, Infrastructure, Finance, Operations, and other pods. Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to a culture of ownership, customer focus, and continuous improvement. The role reports to the Pod Lead, MultiplierOS. You will work on systems handling financial and operational data that businesses rely on daily—correctness, reliability, and maintainability matter as much as shipping velocity. **Requirements**: - 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems - Proven track record delivering complex products or business-critical systems in high-growth environments - Strong systems thinker who can reason about domain modeling, data consistency, integrations, workflow orchestration, and business tradeoffs - Experience building systems that integrate with external platforms, APIs, financial systems, or operational software - Experience in workflow-heavy domains such as fintech, accounting, payments, ERP, payroll, HRIS, professional services, marketplaces, or operations software strongly preferred - Experience with financial systems, reporting, billing, payments, accounting workflows, or operational tooling is a significant plus - Comfortable debugging and improving production systems; pragmatic decision-making under real-world constraints - Product-minded and curious about business problems behind technical work - Comfortable in ambiguous environments where requirements are incomplete and priorities evolve - Strong communicator effective with operators, executives, engineers, and product stakeholders - Pragmatic about AI and automation; able to identify where technology creates meaningful operational leverage - High standards for reliability, correctness, and engineering quality in business-critical systems
