SWIR Vision Systems (part of onsemi, Nasdaq: ON) is seeking a Product Engineer to join a cross-functional team focused on semiconductor device qualification and reliability. The company specializes in automotive and industrial applications, driving innovations in vehicle electrification, safety, sustainable energy grids, industrial automation, and 5G/cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will own qualification and reliability solutions for AMG products (digital, analog, and mixed-signal semiconductors) during New Product Development (NPD) and multi-sourcing strategy. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and develop hardware for reliability testing across all product lines, including burn-in boards, HAST boards, temperature-humidity bias boards, and ESD boards
• Own burn-in activation plans for new products, managing both dynamic and static stress plans in burn-in ovens
• Plan, track, and publish pre- and post-qualification test schedules and results
• Drive failure disposition and root-cause analysis (EFA/PFA), implementing corrective actions
• Interface with QRE, BU PE teams, and cross-functional groups (NPD, Program Management, Design, Bench Development) on qualification and reliability test plans
• Execute cost-reduction activities such as production burn-in reduction or elimination
• Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices for future projects
• Learn and operate multiple ATE tester platforms and environmental stress systems
• Perform failure analysis and isolation using advanced techniques (FIB/SEM, TEM, LVI, Emmiscope)
• Analyze data and develop scripts in C/C++ and PERL for automation and analysis
You will work in a global team environment with minimal supervision, managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of communication and organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• Minimum 7+ years of direct experience running semiconductor IC qualifications
• Hands-on experience with burn-in systems: designing burn-in hardware and writing activation code
• Proven experience in manufacturing metrics and problem-solving in manufacturing environments
• Deep familiarity with qualification industry specs (e.g., AEC Q100) and JEDEC specs (ESD, LU, THB, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of wafer-fab processes, factory operations, assembly, and test operations
• Experience in failure analysis and isolation techniques (FIB/SEM, TEM, LVI, Emmiscope) — absolute requirement
• Strong data-analysis skills and programming ability in C/C++ and PERL
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work safely and support all Health, Safety & Security requirements
• Plus: Good understanding of device physics and failure mechanisms in analog/digital/mixed-signal ICs
