DataCamp is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join an AI-native engineering team building learning systems for 17 million learners and 6,000+ companies. You will own large, ambiguous projects end-to-end—from ideation through prototyping, measurement, and iteration—with significant autonomy to shape technical direction and drive impact.
In this role, you'll take ownership of product and platform projects, making architectural decisions and ensuring the systems you ship remain scalable, reliable, and observable as they grow. You'll work extensively with LLM-powered services and raise the bar for technical standards across testing, observability, code quality, and long-term engineering excellence. You'll use data, metrics, and user feedback to inform what gets built next, and mentor fellow engineers through technical leadership and thoughtful code review.

**Requirements:**
- 7+ years building software across the stack; experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React is a strong plus
- Start-up or early-stage/small-company experience; proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-velocity environments and ship quickly
- Strong product mindset paired with pragmatism; ability to understand users, weigh data and feedback, and make sharp trade-offs
- AI-native approach: agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex) as your primary way of working, with 6+ months of daily, hands-on use; ability to write custom skills, wire up MCP servers, and demonstrate what you've built
- Expert knowledge of modern API design and microservices architecture
- Track record of taking large, ambiguous problems end-to-end independently, including both greenfield 0→1 builds and improving complex existing systems
