Healthtech-1 is building the front door of UK healthcare, creating transparent and instantly bookable NHS appointments powered by AI. The company operates from within a working GP practice in East London and is backed by Y Combinator, Innovate UK, and the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme. Today, 26% of GP practices in England use their patient registration software, and one in five GP practices in London use Bookable. You will join as a mid-level Product Designer working directly with the CEO to own the design of Bookable Navigator Inbox—the central hub where GP practice teams receive, triage, and act on patient requests. This product is used all day by receptionists, care navigators, and clinicians; every design decision directly impacts their efficiency and patient care. Key responsibilities include: - Getting close to users through regular interviews, observing real shifts, and understanding how the Inbox is used in practice - Researching and scoping product tickets before engineering, ensuring the team builds the right solution - Dogfooding the product to identify friction points better than anyone - Analyzing product metrics to find where users get stuck and translating insights into design work - Measuring the impact of shipped features - Taking ideas from scrappy MVP through polished, high-fidelity design - Making interfaces simple, beautiful, and usable for people working under time pressure - Working side-by-side with engineers from first sketch to production - Leveraging AI tools like Claude daily for research, prototyping, and velocity The role sits at the intersection of design and product management. You'll start owning the Inbox experience and grow toward owning product decisions end-to-end. The company is intentional about developing people who could one day found their own company—you'll get real reps with real NHS users and real problems, plus direct access to the CEO to shape what gets built. The team works in 8-week growth cycles: 1 week for research, strategy, and planning; 7 weeks to deliver. The office is located within a GP practice, giving you unfair advantage access to users and real-world context. The culture emphasizes collaboration, radical transparency, and doing your life's best work. Requirements: - 3–5 years shipping within fast-paced product teams - Experience working in a product team and at a startup - Obsession with UI and constant design thinking, including attention to detail (e.g., button spacing) - Excitement about talking to users and getting close to problems - Drive to improve: you seek feedback and want to get much better quickly - Comfort with numbers and ability to make data-driven cases - Already using AI tools in your workflow - Bonus: product manager mindset—you ask why before how, can scope problems to what matters, and have opinions about what to build next
