Abby Care is an AI-native platform for family-led care, addressing America's growing care crisis by empowering over 50 million family caregivers with tools, training, and support. The company combines clinical oversight with AI-powered technology to help families deliver high-quality care at home while providing health plans and government partners with better visibility and verification of care outcomes.
You will join the in-house design team as an experienced, systems-oriented Product Designer reporting to the Head of Product. This is a foundational role shaping how care is delivered, managed, and experienced across the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end product design across the full lifecycle: problem framing, user research, workflows, interaction design, high-fidelity UI, launch, and iteration. You'll operate with high autonomy and accountability, supported by product and engineering teams.
- Design durable, configurable systems and workflows—not just screens. Focus on information architecture, role-based permissions, states, statuses, and edge cases, prioritizing clarity, scalability, and correctness.
- Design for multiple users and contexts: family caregivers (B2C), clinicians, and operators (B2B) across mobile and web. Balance differing needs and mental models while maintaining platform coherence.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, clinical, and compliance teams to translate technical, regulatory, and operational constraints into thoughtful design decisions.
- Contribute to AI-assisted and human-in-the-loop experience design, ensuring trust, transparency, and appropriate guardrails in healthcare contexts.
Success Metrics:
- Build a durable design system and clear information architecture enabling product and engineering teams to construct complex workflows quickly and correctly.
- Deliver highly intuitive, cross-platform solutions supporting distinct mental models of family caregivers, clinicians, and operators within a coherent platform.
- Cross-functionally launch human-in-the-loop, AI-assisted features that safely augment users while navigating strict healthcare regulations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a product designer
- Strong experience designing systems, workflows, and information architecture
- Experience designing for multi-role, permissioned products
- Experience across web and mobile
- Comfort owning the full design process, including user research, synthesis, and iteration
- Preferred: experience in healthcare or other regulated, high-stakes industries
- Preferred: experience at startups or on small, fast-moving teams
