Weave is an all-in-one communication and engagement platform for healthcare practices. As a Product Design Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of product designers while serving as a strategic partner alongside Product and Engineering leaders.
You will guide designers to become influential thought partners, shape experience vision grounded in validated user needs, and drive product direction. You'll operate as the bridge connecting design, product, and engineering to build cohesive, human-centered experiences. The role offers high visibility, broad ownership, and significant organizational impact within a lean, agile team structure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as an equal strategic partner with Product and Engineering to identify, shape, and prioritize product strategy and roadmaps
- Leading experience vision and advocacy for your product areas, bringing a cohesive point of view that drives design-led transformation
- Proactively identifying strategic UX opportunities that span your areas and across the platform
- Positioning designers to operate upstream by coaching them to champion user needs and shape priorities
- Directing design reviews focused on both craft quality and strategic direction
- Inspiring and supporting designers across experience levels, helping them grow their craft, judgment, and impact
- Hiring world-class designers and creating conditions for team success
- Identifying and organizing strategic user research initiatives that validate opportunities
- Understanding technology, features, and the end-to-end Weave platform to maintain credibility in strategic discussions
You'll work with a distributed team across time zones and be expected to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and emerging technologies like AI/LLM tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of formal design management experience OR 4+ years of equivalent team leadership as a Lead Individual Contributor (e.g., leading cross-functional initiatives, guiding design strategy, mentoring peers and developing design talent) in a complex product environment
- 5+ years of hands-on product design experience at a product-led software company
- Demonstrated track record of co-leading product strategy alongside Engineering, Product Management, and Data teams
- Mastery in driving adaptable UX strategies that translate complex data workflows and user insights into flexible, scalable, and intuitive design systems
- Clear, empathetic philosophy on guiding and inspiring distributed design teams across time zones
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and emerging technologies to improve product outcomes
Desirable qualities include deep customer empathy for healthcare practice workflows, ability to turn messy problems into clear paths forward, systemic vision across product surfaces, mentoring capability, and ability to build high-trust partnerships with Product and Engineering.
