Salary: USD 180,000 - 290,000 / annual

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their R&D and product engineering team, initially focusing on next-generation radar products. This is a collaborative role where you will work across multiple capabilities within their product offerings and have opportunities to expand your skillset across product families. You will be responsible for research & development and production software development for next-generation radar products, supporting system integration of software on hardware (primarily commercial-off-the-shelf COTS hardware), and supporting deployed software capabilities for U.S. and international customers. This is a full-time on-site position in the Los Angeles (El Segundo) office. CHAOS Industries, founded in 2022, has raised $1B in total funding from leading investors including 8VC, Accel, and NEA. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field - 5+ years of professional object-oriented software development experience - Extensive/advanced Python experience - Experience with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development methodologies - Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams - Solid understanding and extensive experience with Linux software development - U.S. Person status required (position requires access to U.S.-only data systems) Preferred: - Experience with HW/SW integration and testing (I&T) and verification & validation (V&V) of high-TRL systems - Production-level software development and deployment experience, including DevOps, DevSecOps, and/or CI/CD using modern FOSS/COTS toolsets - Experience with software development tools enforcing best practices (linting, code coverage, code quality/security scanning, documentation generation, etc.) - Network experience (software and hardware) - CUDA/JAX experience - Software-Defined Radio (SDR) development experience (e.g., Ettus) - Near-real-time systems development experience - Additional programming languages: C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, Go - Git experience - Container experience (Docker, Podman, etc.)
