MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is a mobile-first work execution platform used by 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo to manage 13.9 million assets and 79.5 million work orders. The Platform & Infrastructure team owns the shared services, design systems, and tooling that every product team depends on—including identity, search, communication, the Pantry design system, developer productivity tools, and CI/CD infrastructure. As Principal Full-Stack Developer, you will set technical direction for shared services and components that other teams build on. You'll design APIs, tools, and design system components with adoption across teams in mind, treating internal engineers as your customers. You'll lead large, ambiguous projects end-to-end from planning through production, partnering with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership to shape roadmaps and influence adjacent teams. Key responsibilities include owning the long-term technical health of a platform domain (reliability, performance, codebase maintenance), driving architecture decisions and writing technical proposals others build against, mentoring senior and staff engineers, and raising the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams. You'll improve the speed, safety, and reliability of how the organization builds, tests, and ships software. Within your first 6 months, you'll own the technical direction of a platform domain or system outright. You'll join a team of 5–10 people and take on-call rotation as part of the role. The core stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL; some teams use C# or Python. You don't need to know every piece already. The company prefers teams to be located around office hubs; in Canada this includes Montreal and Toronto, with no strict minimum in-office mandate. REQUIREMENTS: - 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products, with a track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team - Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js - Experience designing shared systems that held up at scale, and judgment to know when not to build something - Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development - Track record of writing maintainable, testable code you're comfortable handing off to others - Strong written and verbal communication: ability to explain technical tradeoffs to designers, support leads, executives, and other developers - Comfort making progress on a problem before the spec is fully settled, adjusting as you learn more - Day-to-day use of AI tools in your development workflow, not just occasional experimentation NICE TO HAVE: - GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience - Experience with search technology, authentication and identity, design systems or component libraries, developer tooling or IDE extensions, CI/CD, observability, or compliance programs (FedRAMP, SOC 2)
