MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is a mobile-first work execution platform (CMMS) used by over 13,000 customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo to manage 13.9 million assets and 79.5 million work orders. The Core team owns the heart of the platform: work orders, planning and scheduling, inventory and parts, reporting, and asset hierarchy that frontline teams use daily.
You will lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end-to-end, from planning through production. You'll partner directly with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership to shape your team's roadmap and influence adjacent teams. You'll own the long-term technical health of a domain—reliability, performance, and system resilience—and drive architecture decisions that other engineers build against.
The role includes mentoring senior and staff engineers, setting code review standards, and raising the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams. You'll solve hard product problems: dense, data-heavy interfaces, large datasets, offline behavior, and multi-site scale. On newly formed teams, you'll define architecture and engineering practices from the ground up, making complex workflows feel simple on desktop and mobile.
You'll land on a team of 5–10 people and take on-call rotation. Within your first 6 months, you'll own the technical direction of a domain or system outright.
The core stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL; some teams use C# or Python. You don't need to know every piece already.
MaintainX prefers teams located around office hubs; in Canada this includes Montreal and Toronto. There is no minimum in-office mandate.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
- 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products, with a track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team
- Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience designing systems that held up at scale, and judgment to know when not to build something
- Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development
- Track record of writing maintainable, testable code you're comfortable handing off to others
- Strong written and verbal communication: ability to explain technical tradeoffs to designers, support leads, executives, and other developers
- Comfort making progress on problems before specs are fully settled, adjusting as you learn more
- Day-to-day use of AI tools in your development workflow, not just occasional experimentation
- Nice to have: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience; experience with scheduling/calendar UIs, data-heavy front ends, offline-first or sync architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, or inventory and transactional systems
