In this Principal Digital Hardware Engineer role, you will serve as the technical lead for the electrical engineering team, responsible for creating embedded compute solutions for vehicle management, digital signal processing (DSP), and networking applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the electrical engineering team focused on digital design
- Own the complete PCB development lifecycle for host boards supporting FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs, including requirements development, schematic capture, board layout, bring-up, testing, and integration
- Develop and improve workflows throughout the FPGA and HDL design cycle, including architecture definition, functional block specification, simulation, system testing, and HDL library standardization
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop scalable strategies for deploying compute solutions across Anduril
- Create, maintain, and communicate detailed product development schedules to ensure team awareness of tasks and deadlines
You will work on complex embedded systems that support military applications, requiring expertise in both hardware design and digital logic implementation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 15+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs in military, automotive, or similar hardware environments
- Proven experience leading an Electrical Engineering team focused on Digital Design
- Proficiency in an HDL language (VHDL or Verilog)
- Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies
- Familiarity with standard interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB
- Experience in design for signal integrity and power integrity
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
- Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current probes, and test automation
- Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation tool
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding and familiarity with DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-311A standards
- Understanding and familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461 standards
- Expertise in computer networking
- Experience implementing enhanced security measures
