Graphcore is seeking a Power Integrity Engineer to design and analyse power-delivery networks for next-generation AI compute systems. You will work on PDN (power distribution network) analysis across silicon, package, and PCB levels, turning complex electrical behaviour into practical design recommendations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build, integrate, and analyse PDN models for defined power rails, package structures, PCB designs, and subsystems
- Use frequency-domain impedance analysis and time-domain simulation to investigate voltage stability, droop, resonances, and transient response
- Evaluate decoupling choices and placement, considering capacitance, parasitics, and interactions between silicon, package, and PCB
- Perform electromagnetic simulation to extract and understand resistance, inductance, coupling, and impedance in power and ground structures
- Validate model setup, assumptions, convergence, and physical validity; explain result limitations
- Translate findings into practical recommendations for decoupling, layout, power and ground distribution, and other PI design choices
- Document results, identify technical risks, and contribute to design reviews and PI verification
- Collaborate with test engineers to define measurements, interpret results, and investigate simulation-to-hardware discrepancies
- Work alongside experienced PI engineers and colleagues across hardware disciplines
You will start with clearly scoped PI problems supported by experienced engineers, and as your capability grows, you will own larger portions of the PDN. The role emphasizes evidence-based decisions, physical understanding, clear communication of uncertainty, and taking responsibility for analysis quality.
Graphcore is part of the SoftBank Group and develops hardware, software, and systems infrastructure for AI compute. The company values diverse backgrounds and experiences, including engineers returning to the profession after career breaks.
