Hyperbound is a Revenue Activation Platform—an agentic operating system for sales that transforms real selling behavior into targeted coaching and workflow improvements. Founded in 2023 from YC (S23), the company has raised $18M (including a $15M Series A from Peak XV Partners) and serves enterprise customers including LinkedIn, Workday, Vanta, and Intel. The company is 45 people, growing rapidly, and based in San Francisco.
In this role, you will own the architecture and long-term strategy for Hyperbound's public APIs and integrations that connect the platform to the CRM, dialer, and communications tools customers already use. You are the expert who makes critical design decisions that every internal team and external developer building against the platform will depend on.
On the API side, you will own design, versioning, and end-to-end maintainability. You'll make decisions about how the API behaves, how it evolves, and how it scales. On the integrations side, you'll solve genuinely hard problems: ensuring data consistency across systems never designed to communicate, managing rate limits that hit at the worst moments, and building synchronization that holds up when a customer's CRM has a bad day.
You'll work directly with the founding team to decide what gets built next and which partnerships move the business. When integrations break—and they will—you're not filing a bug; you're the one who diagnoses the issue, communicates with the customer, and ships the fix. You own the outcome end to end, from design through production support.
The team values craft and moves fast without excessive guardrails. Several team members have founded their own companies; some were previously competitors who chose to build here instead. The culture celebrates meaningful wins (the team went to Bali after the Series A) and expects ownership in return.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep experience with API design patterns, versioning, and building for long-term maintainability
- Real fluency in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and securing data movement between systems you don't control
- Hands-on experience working with third-party APIs and understanding how different SaaS platforms behave differently
- Track record of owning something end to end at a fast-moving organization with minimal guardrails
- Bonus: prior startup experience (including founding), production AWS systems with CI/CD, or shipped work you're proud of
