Salary: USD 158,000 - 238,000 / annual

Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is at a unique inflection point—early enough to shape the product and culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum. The Accounting team spans tax and compliance, financial operations, general ledger, and business data strategy. The team is united by a shared goal of protecting financial integrity while enabling smarter, faster decisions to help the company scale. As Plant Controller, you will serve as the senior accounting leader for the manufacturing site at Cape Canaveral, owning the accuracy and integrity of site financial results and partnering closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership. You will lead plant accounting and close activities across manufacturing costs, inventory, fixed assets, capital projects, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting. You will own manufacturing and cost accounting, including standard costs, labor and overhead, work in process, inventory valuation, and analysis of production and manufacturing variances. Key responsibilities include establishing strong financial controls and disciplined processes across inventory, production reporting, purchasing, receiving, fixed assets, capital expenditures, and other plant operations. You will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to translate manufacturing activity into accurate financial insights and improve business decisions. You will build and strengthen the accounting infrastructure needed to support the transition from development and low-rate production to repeatable, rate-based manufacturing, while leading and developing the site accounting team. You will maintain a regular, hands-on presence within manufacturing operations, investigating financial results at the operational level and serving as a trusted partner to plant leadership. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant manufacturing experience - Proven experience in plant controllership, site accounting, or manufacturing accounting leadership within a complex, capital-intensive environment - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, fixed assets, and capital-project accounting - Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and plant leadership to understand operational drivers and solve complex financial issues - Experience building or strengthening accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting in a growing or evolving manufacturing environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate financial results at the operational level - Must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at the government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida NICE TO HAVE: - CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant advanced qualification - Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or another highly engineered manufacturing environment - Experience supporting a transition from development or low-rate production to repeatable manufacturing, including implementing or improving standard costing and manufacturing master data - Experience with complex manufacturing ERPs such as Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle, along with exposure to SOX, government contracting, project accounting, data analytics, or process automation
