Jerry.ai is building an AI-powered platform to manage car ownership—insurance, buying/selling, registration, loans, repairs, and more—across a $2T market. The company has raised $240M, achieved 70X revenue growth in 5 years, amassed 5M+ customers, and scaled to 225 employees across 6 countries. They are pre-IPO with profitability achieved in 2024.
You will join as a People Ops Generalist reporting to the Director of HR Operations. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day HR operations at a high-growth, talent-dense startup. You will own the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, manage HR administration and compliance, and help build scalable processes as the company grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing employee onboarding, offboarding, file management, and benefits administration
- Partnering with hiring managers on role-specific onboarding and handling compliance for new hires (I-9 verification, state filings, benefits enrollment)
- Researching federal, state, and local employment law requirements; monitoring systems and practices for compliance; drafting policy and procedure changes for leadership review
- Preparing and maintaining HR documents (offer letters, employment contracts, onboarding materials) with accuracy and compliance focus
- Serving as first point of contact for employee HR questions, providing guidance on policies and resolving day-to-day issues independently, escalating complex matters as needed
- Partnering with People Operations Associates and HR Administrators to share knowledge on policies and processes
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives (surveys, recognition programs, team-building, offsites) and collecting feedback
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and document HR processes using AI tools to speed up research, draft documentation, and reduce manual work
You will operate independently with minimal oversight, bringing a service-first mindset and solid judgment to sensitive HR matters. The role requires exceptional communication, multitasking ability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- 2-4 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, ideally at a small or high-growth company where you owned the full employee lifecycle
- Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment law fundamentals, with ability to research and apply new requirements
- Experience implementing and building HR automations and systems
- Comfortable working in HRIS platforms
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
