Salary: USD 90,000 - 110,000 / annual

Blank Street is a food and beverage brand on a mission to become the defining brand of its generation through elevated products and attention to detail. The People Operations Partner is a trusted partner to the Operations Team, supporting stores across multiple markets during a period of growth. This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution, supporting General Managers and Operations Managers across hiring, development, retention, and business protection. You will partner with field leaders on employee relations, performance management, coaching, engagement, and talent development while proactively identifying trends and opportunities. The role is based in-person in the Brooklyn, NY office, reports to the HRBP Manager, and requires frequent travel across markets and stores. Key responsibilities include: **Hire:** Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations leaders on hiring strategy, interview calibration, and workforce planning. Support strong hiring decisions by assessing talent quality and team fit. Ensure new hires have a smooth onboarding experience from offer acceptance through ramp-up. Proactively identify hiring gaps and staffing risks. **Develop:** Coach and support General Managers, Shift Leads, and Operations Managers on performance management, accountability, feedback, and team dynamics. Drive execution of People programs including performance coaching frameworks and engagement action planning. Support internal promotions, succession planning, and leadership development. Help leaders navigate difficult conversations confidently and fairly. **Retain:** Lead employee relations matters and investigations from intake through resolution with strong documentation and professionalism. Identify trends in turnover, attendance, engagement, and performance. Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers. Build strong relationships across markets to maintain a pulse on team health and morale. **Protect the Business:** Partner cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Training, Finance, and Operations to support smooth business operations. Use people data and operational trends to identify risks and support business decision-making. You should be an expert at handling employee relations issues with sound judgment, confident at coaching managers toward solutions, and have a strong grasp of People Ops fundamentals including onboarding, compliance, documentation, and investigations. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, responsive, action-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity and fast pace. You are a clear communicator and genuinely enjoy supporting people. **Requirements:** - 4+ years of HR or People Ops experience, ideally in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment - Working knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements (I-9s, wage & hour, documentation standards) - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment - Demonstrated ability to stay organized and detail-oriented across multiple workstreams - Comfortable using HR systems and tools (HRIS, ATS, Google Suite) - Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment - Must be based in NYC with flexibility to travel throughout the market as needed
