Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and production-grade voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50 billion years of audio and transcribed more than 1 trillion words, serving 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and Jack in the Box.
You will be an early-career engineer partnering directly with Deepgram's Head of People to design and build AI-powered workflows that transform how People Operations functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying high-impact opportunities to apply AI and automation across People Operations
- Building an AI-first onboarding experience that is scalable and provides exceptional user experience
- Converting manual People workflows into automated, AI-powered systems
- Creating AI agents and workflows that answer questions, gather information, initiate processes, and complete defined actions
- Integrating AI systems with existing tools (HRIS, Slack, recruiting, performance, compensation systems)
- Building internal tools and interfaces that simplify People processes for employees, managers, and the People team
- Prototyping quickly, testing with real users, and iterating based on feedback
- Establishing human-in-the-loop controls, escalation paths, permissions, and safeguards for sensitive workflows
- Partnering with Engineering and IT on architecture, security, access controls, and productionizing prototypes
- Measuring impact: whether solutions save time, improve employee experience, or increase quality and consistency
Deepgram operates with an AI-first mindset. All team members are expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, integrate them into daily workflows, and continuously push technological boundaries. The company moves at the pace of AI, with rapid change and evolution in day-to-day work. This role requires comfort with experimentation, quick adaptation, and continuous learning.
