OpenAI is seeking a Partner Applied AI Engineer to lead technical engagement with systems integrators (GSIs, RSIs, boutique SIs) and their customers in LATAM, driving the adoption and deployment of generative AI solutions.
About the Role
As one of the founding Partner Applied AI Engineers for the region, you will serve as the technical thought partner and trusted advisor to systems integrators and their most strategic customers. Your mission is to help these partners identify high-value GenAI use cases, provide hands-on technical enablement, and accelerate their path from prototype to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embed deeply with systems integrators as the technical lead, ideating and building novel applications on OpenAI's API for their customers
- Work with senior SI and customer stakeholders to identify optimal GenAI applications within their industry and build comprehensive AI roadmaps
- Intervene directly to accelerate customer time to value through hands-on prototypes and strategic guidance
- Forge and manage relationships with SI and customer stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scaling of applications
- Codify solution packages and architectural patterns to accelerate deployment timelines
- Lead technical support during partners' initial projects and mentor their teams toward self-sufficiency
- Scale the Partner Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and contributing to open-source repositories
- Deliver high-signal feedback to Product and Research teams based on customer and partner interactions
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams, reporting to the Head of Solutions Architecture. The role is based in São Paulo with a hybrid work model (3 days in office per week). OpenAI offers relocation assistance for new employees.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of technical consulting or equivalent experience, managing C-level technical and business relationships with complex global organizations
- Led complex technical projects and programs with many stakeholders, ideally within or through a systems integrator
- Industry experience with programming languages such as Python or Javascript
- Led complex implementations of Generative AI and/or traditional ML solutions
- Built and/or delivered prototypes using the OpenAI API
- Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to translate business and technical topics for all audiences, including senior leaders
- End-to-end problem ownership; willingness to acquire missing knowledge to complete tasks
