Remora is a climate tech company building modular carbon capture systems that convert exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ for sale to breweries and greenhouses. The company has raised over $115 million from top-tier investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners. The business model focuses on deploying in regions with severe CO₂ shortages, generating high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for owning the day-to-day operation and performance of deployed carbon capture systems. You will lead the startup, commissioning, testing, and operational handoff of modular systems as the company scales from its first commercial deployment to a growing fleet. You'll work closely with Engineering, Controls, Field Service, Project Management, and Operations teams to safely bring systems online, troubleshoot field issues, validate performance, and establish a repeatable commissioning model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own day-to-day operation and performance of deployed systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance programs, operating standards, and escalation processes
- Monitor fleet performance, system uptime, reliability, maintenance needs, and key operational KPIs
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with Field Service, Engineering, vendors, and contractors
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause resolution of operational issues, ensuring documentation and permanent fixes
- Partner with Commissioning and Engineering to transition newly deployed systems from startup into steady-state operations
- Build operational processes that scale from first commercial systems to a multi-site fleet
- Manage spare parts, consumables, service requirements, and resources necessary to maintain system availability
- Establish preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
- Support hiring, training, and development of operators, technicians, and field operations personnel as the fleet grows
- Maintain strong safety standards and ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering to provide structured feedback from the field and drive improvements in system design, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability
- Manage relationships with site partners, contractors, service providers, and external stakeholders
