Venti Technologies is building safe-speed autonomous logistics systems to transform goods transportation. The company develops proprietary autonomy technologies combining rigorous mathematics, deep learning, and theoretically-grounded algorithms, with autonomous systems already deployed in Asia for industrial and logistics sites.
As an Onsite Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for bringing up new autonomous vehicles and ensuring their safety and reliability from the ground up. This role bridges software and hardware engineering, requiring you to validate critical vehicle systems including steering, braking, and throttle through comprehensive static and dynamic checks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the initial bring-up of new vehicles and executing thorough validation of steering, brake, and throttle systems
- Developing automated testing scripts for vehicle bring-up and building calibration tools for brakes, steering, and post-maintenance validation
- Contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of vehicle motion control software, focusing on steering and speed control
- Building mathematical models of vehicle behavior by characterizing steering, braking, throttle, actuator response, and system delays
- Improving controller performance through rigorous testing, tuning, and calibration across different vehicle platforms and operating conditions
- Collecting and analyzing vehicle test data to diagnose issues, validate controller behavior, and identify improvement opportunities
- Designing and maintaining safety features within the control system, including fault detection, command validation, timeout monitoring, and safe recovery strategies
You will work with a closely-knit, international team across offices in Cambridge (Massachusetts), Suzhou (China), and Singapore. The role offers flexible working arrangements and a collaborative environment focused on solving complex technical challenges in autonomous vehicle systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Approximately 3 years of experience in robotics, control systems, autonomous vehicles, or similar technical field (industry, research, internships, or academic projects)
- Strong understanding of feedback control principles, vehicle dynamics, and controller evaluation
- Experience with system modeling, system identification, or dynamic system analysis
- Familiarity with electromechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuation systems
- Proficiency in modern C++ development on Linux
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and willingness to learn new technologies
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- ROS or ROS 2 experience
- Integration of software with drive-by-wire or embedded vehicle control systems
- Hands-on deployment of robotic or autonomous systems in real-world environments (beyond simulation)
- Knowledge of functional safety practices, risk analysis, or control-related failure analysis
- Understanding of the autonomous driving software stack and how control interacts with perception, localization, and planning
