Anduril Industries is seeking an MRB Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the Air Dominance and Strike team's mechanical sustainment engineering function. This role manages a team of mechanical engineers responsible for evaluating nonconforming hardware on Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms, determining engineering dispositions, and ensuring airworthiness throughout the operational lifecycle. You will lead and grow a team of mechanical sustainment engineers, hire and mentor team members, and establish pathways for MRB signature authority. You'll set technical standards, review complex or high-risk dispositions and repairs, and act as an escalation point for difficult nonconformances on mechanical subsystems, actuation, and structural-mechanical interfaces. Key responsibilities include owning team workload and prioritization to keep production flowing, partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to resolve cross-functional blockers, and driving root cause and corrective action (RCCA) programs to reduce recurring nonconformances. You will build and improve MRB processes, tools, and standard work as production rates increase, report on team throughput and nonconformance trends, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on MRB discipline and mechanical fundamentals. Travel to vendor, production, and test sites is required as needed to support hardware builds and troubleshoot issues directly. REQUIREMENTS: - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience - 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including direct experience evaluating nonconformances and dispositioning hardware in a production, depot, or maintenance environment - 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers, either as a people manager or in a senior technical leadership capacity - Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks) and strong command of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis - Ability to perform and review structural and mechanical analysis (stress, deflection, fatigue) using hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, or equivalent) - Demonstrated ability to set technical standards and review others' work across a team of engineers - Excellent cross-functional communication skills — able to represent the team to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and senior engineering leadership - Self-driven with strong autonomy and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Prior MRB signature/delegated authority on a production aerospace program - Experience standing up or scaling an MRB function in a high-rate or rapidly scaling production environment - Experience with Siemens NX/Teamcenter or other PLM systems - Familiarity with military airworthiness and certification processes (Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft certification, FAA STC, Military Airworthiness Certification) - Experience with FMEA and other risk assessment methodologies - Hands-on experience in an aircraft manufacturing, depot repair, or sustainment environment - Broad experience across a range of aircraft or missile programs
