Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 / annual
Ocrolus is an AI workflow and analytics platform for lenders, processing nearly one million credit applications monthly. The company partners with industry leaders like Better Mortgage, Brex, SoFi, and PayPal to automate lending workflows with confidence.
You will join as a Mortgage Forward-Deployed Engineer, serving as the technical bridge between Ocrolus and its mortgage lending customers. This is a hybrid engineering and solutions role where you'll embed with customer teams, act as a trusted technical advisor, and drive real-world impact across the post-sales lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor during post-sales engagements, embedding with customer teams to understand mortgage origination workflows
- Review and consult on technical solutions, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and integrations
- Build and support technical solutions and integrations for mortgage clients using Ocrolus, Encompass, and other POS/LOS platforms
- Run proof-of-concepts and proof-of-value engagements to demonstrate ROI
- Troubleshoot technical issues in live customer environments
- Partner with Account Management and Product teams to deliver value and influence the roadmap
- Travel occasionally (30–50%) to customer sites and industry events
You'll have ownership from day one, leading projects end-to-end while working directly with customers to see immediate impact. You'll shape the product roadmap by bringing customer insights straight to engineering.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of software engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience
- 3+ years of background in mortgage or lending workflows
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Encompass
- Strong consultative sales/account management approach; ability to map technology to business challenges and drive change management conversations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior mortgage executives
- Backend: Python, APIs, Encompass Developer Connect, SQL
- Frontend: React/TypeScript, JavaScript with ICE Secure Scripting Framework (SSF) for Encompass custom form and workflow logic
- Familiarity with mortgage LOS/POS platforms (Encompass, Blend, SimpleNexus, Floify), Git, and cloud basics (AWS/Azure)
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Nice to have:
- Experience with SaaS integrations or loan origination systems
- Additional mortgage LOS/POS platform experience
- Exposure to AI/ML or generative AI
