Termius is a cross-platform SSH client used by millions of engineers worldwide. The company provides secure synchronization of hosts, credentials, and settings across desktop and mobile devices, enabling engineers to access and manage remote systems from anywhere. The iOS and Android apps are full-featured companions to the desktop experience, not lightweight add-ons.
You will own the technical direction of Termius on both mobile platforms and lead a distributed team of four engineers (2 iOS, 2 Android) across several countries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the mobile architecture and technical roadmap for iOS and Android, ensuring consistency across platforms and alignment with the desktop product
- Lead and mentor the mobile team through code reviews, technical coaching, and clear engineering standards
- Remain hands-on: design and build complex features, and resolve critical issues on either platform when needed
- Improve the mobile foundation, including CI/CD, release processes, testing, crash monitoring, and incremental modernization of the existing codebase
- Bring modern engineering practices to the team, including AI-assisted development workflows that measurably improve delivery
The role offers remote work flexibility within time zones GMT+4 to GMT+12, with the option to relocate to New Zealand after the probation period. The company provides necessary equipment, paid vacation, sick leave, and flexible time off, and fosters a culture of proactiveness, fail-fast-learn-fast approach, and ownership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive experience building and shipping complex production mobile apps, including in a technical leadership or architect role
- Deep expertise in at least one native platform (Android or iOS), and solid working knowledge of the other, sufficient to make architecture decisions, review code, and guide engineers on both
- Strong debugging, testing, and system-design skills
- Comfort navigating a large existing codebase and refactoring it incrementally without disrupting delivery
- Pragmatic product judgment and clear communication
- Familiarity with networking, SSH, cryptography, or terminal emulation is a plus but not required
